What to Expect During Your First Visit

Your first visit is intended to be comfortable and informative. We understand that entering a martial arts dojo for the first time may feel unfamiliar, so we will explain what to expect and help you get started at an appropriate pace.

  • No previous Aikido or martial arts experience is required.
  • Beginners receive guidance throughout the class.
  • Training is cooperative rather than competitive.
  • Students are not expected to perform beyond their experience or ability.
  • Parents are welcome to observe their child’s class.

What Should You Wear?

You do not need to purchase a uniform before your first class. Comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely is sufficient.

A T-shirt with sweatpants or athletic pants is recommended. Please avoid clothing with zippers, metal buttons, jewelry, or anything that could catch on another student during training.

Students who enroll can receive help selecting the proper uniform size.
